Further, South Africa has a strict legalization requirement and all documents for service must be properly legalized before being submitted for service. Unfortunately, South Africa is not a member of the Hague Legalization Convention, so litigants are stuck with the unwieldy and time-consuming job of authenticating the documents through the US government.
