The Republic of Iraq is not a signatory of the Convention of 15 November 1965 on the Service Abroad of Judicial and Extrajudicial Documents in Civil or Commercial Matters, also called the Hague Service Convention, and is extremely dangerous.

LLS does not effect service of process in Iraq unless your defendant is located within the “international zone” (formerly known as the “green zone”) in Baghdad.

Effecting Service on Military Personnel

If your defendant is in the military, please consult our article regarding service of process upon military personnel overseas.

Contact LLS for Assistance

For assistance with service of process throughout the Middle East, please contact LLS at 1-800-755-5775.

With the exception of Kuwait, no Middle Eastern country is a member of any treaty regulating international service of process. Some countries, though, like the United Arab Emirates, reluctantly execute letters rogatory.

In other countries we can retain an attorney or private agent to effect service of process.
