European Union (Europa)–“Europa is the European Union’s portal web site giving access to the information of all institutions and bodies of the European Union (European Parliament, Council of the Union, Commission, Court of Justice, Court of Auditors, Economic and Social Committee, Committee of the Regions, European Central Bank, European Investment Bank…). Europa provides a vast array of information on European integration, particularly concerning the European Union’s objectives, policies and institutional set-up.”
International Court of Justice – “The International Court of Justice (ICJ), which has its seat in The Hague, is the principal judicial organ of the United Nations. The Court has a dual role: to settle in accordance with international law the legal disputes submitted to it by States, and to give advisory opinions on legal questions referred to it by duly authorized international organs and agencies.”
North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) – “The North Atlantic Treaty guarantees the security of its member countries. Today, following the end of the Cold War and the division of Europe, the Alliance has been restructured to enable it to participate in the development of cooperative security structures for the whole of Europe.”
Council of Europe – The Council of Europe is an intergovernmental organisation which aims to protect human rights, pluralist democracy and the rule of law.
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) – established in 1991, fosters the transition towards open market-oriented economies and to promote private and entrepreneurial initiative in the countries of central and eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)
Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) – oldest and largest regional multilateral development institution, was established in December of 1959 to help accelerate economic and social development in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Inter-Governmental Consultations on Asylum, Refugee and Migration Policies in Europe, North America and Australia – Informal, non-decision making forum for information exchange and policy consideration for innovative solutions and strategies to the rapidly changing asylum, refugee and migration situation.
International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) – has a world-wide mandate dealing with the conservation of all types of cultural heritage.
International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (Unidroit) – Its purpose is to examine ways of harmonising and co-ordinating the private law of States and of groups of States, and the adoption by States of uniform rules of private law.
International Organization for Migration (IOM) – Organization committed to the principle that humane and orderly migration benefits migrants and society.
Inter-parliamentary Union (IPU) – focal point for world-wide parliamentary dialogue and works for peace and co-operation among peoples and for the firm establishment of representative democracy.
Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) – provides governments a setting in which to discuss, develop and perfect economic and social policy.
World Trade Organization (WTO) – is the only global international organization dealing with the rules of trade between nations. The goal is to help producers of goods and services, exporters, and importers conduct their business.
